Our research lab
Welcome to WAWAB
We conduct research on wellbeing related concerns in work and life domains in diverse populations.
People spend a significant amount of their lifetime at work. Many look to work and careers for meaning and sense of accomplishment. Life beyond work is also an important aspect of human existence.
The two domains, work and life, impact individuals in many ways. In this lab, we are studying various aspects of wellbeing at work and in life, with focus on identifying environmental and personal factors that impact wellbeing.
- In our studies we have considered various aspects of wellbeing, including, but not limited to, engagement, psychological safety, satisfaction, creativity, meaning, and work-life balance.
- In addition, the consideration of differences in wellbeing across different groups is considered, including cross-cultural comparisons, consideration of immigrants’ experiences, as well as international and domestic students.
“Work was made for man, and not man for work. Work is man’s servant, both in its results to the worker and the world. Man is not work’s servant, save as an almost universal perversion has made him such.”
– Josiah Gilbert Holland
“The challenge of work-life balance is without question one of the most significant struggles faced by modern man.”
– Stephen Covey
